What to Bring to Your First Visit
To help Dr. Samadi review your case thoroughly, please bring the following information to your first appointment, if possible:
- PSA history: Your prostate-specific antigen results over time. PSA is a screening test used to help determine whether prostate cancer may be present. Learn more about elevated PSA.
- Pathology slides and prostate biopsy report: These show whether prostate cancer exists and how aggressive it is. During a biopsy, several small needle samples are taken and analyzed by a pathologist.
- Imaging studies: A nuclear medicine bone scan, CT scan, MRI, or PSMA PET scan, if available, to help determine the stage of the cancer.
- Medical and surgical history and a list of all current medications and supplements.
- Name and address of your referring physician.
- Medical insurance provider and plan information.
If you have imaging on disc or through an online portal, bring the disc or the access details so the images themselves can be reviewed, not just the written report.
