Prostate Cancer 911

Testimonial

When one is faced with the words “You Have Cancer,” it is devastating, especially for a physician who has dealt with these words most of his professional life. I am that physician. Despite medical knowledge, all went blank. The cancer was prostate, of an aggressive nature, with a Gleason score of 8. Despite PSA’s every 3 to 4 months and negative biopsies 2 years earlier, a random biopsy yielded the above results.

I called professors and friends at institutions I had trained at, all well-meaning, and all with different views. After discussion with my personal urologist, the term Robotic Prostatectomy and Dr. David Samadi were introduced. Gathering all the information and with a history of major cardiovascular disease, I decided to contact Dr. Samadi.

From the moment we spoke, I knew I had made the right choice. It is now more than a week post-op and all is well (including path reports). Once again, I thank Dr. Samadi and all at Mount Sinai for the opportunity to be cared for by the best.
